The residents of the City of Twentynine Palms’ 3rd, 4th, and 5th City Council districts will have a great opportunity to hear from their local candidates courtesy of their hometown Community Radio Station.
On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, as a public service, Z107.7 News will conduct a Twentynine Palms City Council District election candidates’ forum at Theatre 29, 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each of the six candidates will be given two minutes for an opening statement. They will then be asked to respond to questions both submitted in advance and by attendees at the forum. The forum will end with a one-minute closing statement. The questions submitted must be able to be answered by all the candidates. Questions can be submitted prior to the Forum to Z107.7 News via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, please put “Forum Question” in the subject line. Questions can also be brought in advance to the office of the Twentynine Palms Chamber of Commerce at 73484 Twentynine Palms Highway. Questions may also be submitted the night of the event.
Z107.7 News Director Gary Daigneault will moderate the Forum. Suzi and C.J. Horn will act as timers and judges. Candidates for Basin-wide Public offices are also welcome to attend and will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and give a 2-minute statement. Running for District 3 is incumbent Daniel Mintz and certified write-in candidate Denise Cullum. For District 4, incumbent John Cole will face challenger Karmolette O’Gilvie. In District 5, Incumbent McArthur Wright will be challenged by Cora Heiser.
