The classic Broadway musical, “OKLAHOMA”, celebrating its 75th year, will open with a gala fundraiser Friday, March 8, 2019, hosted by the Yucca Valley Noon Rotary at Theatre 29. Rotary President Patti Brown said the opening night gala will feature a delicious barbeque dinner with ribs and chicken and all the fixin’s prior to the show.
Directed by Charles Harvey, this tale of star-crossed lovers, a charming cowboy and a winsome farmer’s daughter in the wild frontier of what will become America’s 46th state in the early twentieth century will take the stage for four weeks beginning March 8th through 31st, 2019.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the pre-show barbecue and silent auction bidding featuring some fun themed baskets. One live auction item, a beautiful desert mosaic piece, will be offered to the attendees, the curtain rises at 7 p.m. Opening night tickets only are $25 each and are available at the Z107.7 Studios and by calling Patti Brown at 760-365-7003.
After the March 8th opening night event, “OKLAHOMA!” will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00PM as well as Sunday matinees at 2:30PM through March 31st. Tickets are $15.00 Regular, $12.00 Seniors and Military, and $10.00 for Students with ID or children under 12. OKLAHOMA is a family musical, but does feature some dark images and simulated violence, and there will be gunshots fired.
