Fiber takes on many intriguing and appealing forms this month at Gallery 62 in downtown Joshua Tree, with November’s exhibit UNCOMMON THREADS.
Guest curator and fabric artist extraordinaire Laurie Shafer has woven together a wonderful array of fantastic fiber-based work from local artisans including Patty Domay, Kathi Klopfenstein, Karen Mortensen, Joanna Szachowska, Tobi Toboada and Nikki Verbitsky. In G62’s Signature Room, fabulous clothing by Ms. Shafer and Anja Broenink will be on display—and ready to try on!
Regular gallery hours are Fridays and Sundays, 12-3pm, and Saturdays, 9am-3pm, plus the gallery is also open by appointment. The show will run from Friday, November 2nd through Sunday the 25th. And be sure to drop by the always-lively Artists’ Reception during the Second Saturday Downtown Art Crawl, November 10th from 6-8pm for a delightful, distinctly uncommon night out.
Gallery 62 is located at 60167 Twentynine Palms Hwy, Suite H, Joshua Tree and proudly features the exceptional talents of local artists. It is the cooperative gallery of the Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council, a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization with a 501(c)(3) status. For further information, visit gallery62.org or MBCAC.org
