TWENTYNINE PALMS ROTARIANS CLEAN A CITY BLOCK
Members of the Twentynine Palms Rotary Club recently spent a morning removing trash from a block of vacant properties right near the City’s downtown core.
Working in an area of unimproved lots just north of State Route 62 and Tamarisk, the Rotary volunteers braved prickly desert flora and the challenges of a superbloom to fill about a dozen trash bags.
The Clean-up is part of a program sponsored by the City of Twentynine Palms that targets blighted areas and “Attractive Nuisance” areas to make them both safe and attractive.
The 29 Palms Rotary Club, chartered in 1948, looks for needs in the community and assists by funding projects, scholarships, and events or mobilizing members to help where needed. Their motto is “Service Above Self”.
The Rotary Club meets Wednesdays at noon at the Little Church of the Desert Meeting room on Adobe Road. For information contact Rotary Club President Gary Daigneault at 760-366-8471.
