Theatre 29’s wildly successful Improvisational troupe, THE BAKERS DOZEN, will be onstage again at 7:00 pm Saturday November 10, with a Thanksgiving themed special show.
THE BAKERS DOZEN will offer a Tryptophan fueled improvisational smorgasbord when they get back at the table ready to stuff your face...with comedy! You never know what bounty will be at our table, just come and dig in! Get your seats EARLY!
Featuring a top-notch cast of improvisers and a special guest artist, the Thanksgiving special will make you give thanks (for the laughs). The players will take the audience through a series of hysterical improvisational games where anything can happen (and usually does!). The Troupe will take suggestions from the audience as a source of inspiration to get started.
Improvisational theatre (Improv) pre-dates the invention of writing, long before we started writing we were telling stories by acting them out. The plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment.
Troupe Director Chris Fleischman said they have been working on some new games and he is really looking forward to some fresh improvisational hijinx for the holiday season.
Appearing in the November show with their own unique take on the art of improvisational comedy, along with Director Fleischman, are; Graham Cooley, Cindy Daigneault, Kathy Ferguson, Lisa Goldberg, Charles Harvey, Cody Joseph, Kevin Myer, Marty Neider, Joseph Rego, Kurt Schauppner, and Lyle Williams.
The special guest for the show is 13 year-old Karly Bateman, a Summer Youth Theater veteran who appeared in numerous roles in Wizard of Oz. Karly was just named as the lead for the upcoming Musical “Annie” set for a November 23rd opening. Fleischman said, “We are really excited to have Karly as our guest, we have been working with Karly since she expressed an interest during Wizard of Oz.”
In addition to Saturday, November 10, another show, (Rated PG-13) is set for Saturday December 29, 2018. “Baker’s Dozen” shows have garnered a loyal group of improv lovers and early reservations are urged.
Ticket prices are greatly reduced with General Admission at $10.00, Military, and Seniors are $7.00 and $5.00 for students with ID. Theatre 29 Season Ticket holders can attend one performance at no charge. Reservations can be made online at or by calling the theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
