Reach Out Morongo Basin organizers have geared up for the 2019 Parade of Homes fundraiser to be held on February 17, 2019 and are securing homes for the annual fundraising event. With three homes secured , two in Twentynine Palms and one in Yucca Valley, officials are seeking homes in Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley and Morongo Valley to round out the line-up as well as sponsors for the 15th Annual Parade of Homes.
The event, which sees Reach Out Morongo Basin supporters from across the basin open their homes to curious visitors, is the Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors program’s long running fundraiser bringing in thousands of dollars in ticket sales and sponsorships every year to support it's services to senior and disabled residents of the Morongo Basin.
"We are very excited for the upcoming 15th Parade of Homes and the generosity of owners who open their doors to us is what makes this event such a success” said Executive Director Robin Schlosser who continues “Growing interest and success has homeowners eager to show their homes which range from renovated homestead cabins to astonishing architectural masterpieces. The unique qualities of each home showcase our desert community and way of life to visitors from all over the world as they tour view six homes in the Morongo Basin each with its own story.”
In Twentynine Palms homes is ‘Hummingbird Haven’ – the home of Paul Stackel and Lyn Sells. Originally a 1960’s ranch style home the owners completely renovated between 2002 – 2006 adding a dining room, master bedroom and bath, an artist’s studio and garage. The home features artwork and collectables as well as antiques from America and Europe collected during the owner’s time abroad as teachers for the Department of Defense.
Interested homeowners are urged to call Reach Out at 760-361-1410 for information or to offer their homes for consideration.

Docents at each home will wear company shirts and hats, assuming they are supplied by the sponsor and will display company brochures during parade hours.
The platinum sponsor will receive 20 free tickets.
