Action Council for 29 Palms

Action Council for 29 Palms aims to optimize the social, cultural, and economic well-being of the community through arts and tourism, and to maintain and enhance our uniquely fragile environment and heritage. Action Council for 29 Palms has completed 25 murals that reflect the community's rich history and love for nature. Armed Services YMCA

The Armed Services YMCA, Twentynine Palms branch, mission is to serve single and married military service members and their families stationed at the Marine Corps base in Twentynine Palms. Basin Wide Foundation

The Basin Wide Foundation partners with other organizations throughout the Morongo Basin in developing programs intended to enhance the quality of life for all residents. Friends of the 29 Palms Library

Regular meetings of the Friends of the 29 Palms Library are held every first and third Tuesdays of the month at 4 p.m. The 29 Palms Library is located at 6078 Adobe Road, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277. It can be reached at (760) 367-9519.

Hospice of Morongo Basin

Hospice of Morongo Basin is a volunteer hospice, currently serving more then 250 seriously ill patients and their families each year. Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) accepts volunteers in its Family Team Building programs, including the Family Readiness Program and Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills program (LINKS). Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy

The Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy provides free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring to illiterate adults who need help with reading, writing, or mathematics in order to achieve their potential. The Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy accepts volunteers who can teach an adult how to read. For more information, call (760) 367-1146.

Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council

The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council aims to inspire and enliven the community through the arts, and enhance the cultural and economic health of the region. It sponsors the annual Hwy 62 Art Tours and it operates the Donation=Creation Art Store at 61325 Hwy 62 in Joshua Tree. Volunteers are accepted for the art tours and at the art store. Morongo Basin Historical Society

The Morongo Basin Historical Society aims to collect, preserve, exhibit, and publish the history of the Morongo Basin, and educate the people of the Morongo Basin about the area's history. Reach Out Morongo Basin is an interfaith volunteer caregiving program designed to network with area agencies and local congregations to provide support, assistance, education, and referrals to those in need in the Morongo Basin. Sky's the Limit

The Sky's the Limit Observatory and Nature Center is a committee of the nonprofit Basin Wide Foundation, dedicated to educational public outreach activities. Sky's the Limit plans to develop its site as a center for natural history education and exploration, to construct and operate an astronomical observatory, and conduct classes and seminars on astronomy and earth sciences. Theatre 29

Twentynine Palms Artists Guild

The Twentynine Palms Artists Guild owns and operates the Twentynine Palms Art Gallery & Gift Shop at 74055 Cottonwood Drive in Twentynine Palms. Volunteers are accepted in the art gallery, which is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. during the school year, and Friday through Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. during the summer. Twentynine Palms Historical Society

The Twentynine Palms Historical Society preserves and interprets the historic heritage of Twentynine Palms through a variety of educational activities, including field trips, lectures and a quarterly newsletter.
