For those of you who don’t know me here is some of my background. I am a native Californian, born and raised in the Los Angeles area – the San Fernando Valley. I was a partner in a manufacturing business for 10 years in Santa Monica. I have serviced in several capacities with Farmers Insurance during the past 29 years. My most recent position, prior to settling in Twentynine Palms was as a District Operations Manager. The Morongo Basin was part of the operating territory and that’s when I first became associated with Twentynine Palms. My husband Sheldon, and I moved to the Morongo Basin in 2005, and we opened the Farmers Insurance Agency in Twentynine Palms in 2008, and we love this community! I think it’s one of the best kept secrets in the Morongo Basin.
I am really excited about this year as the Chamber President! As you all know, we live in a very unique community. How many other communities have a beautiful national park on one side, and one of the best and biggest military installations in the country on the other side. And . . . what about our night skys, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and precious wilderness space!
As businesspeople, we have a great opportunity to capture our share of the business all of these unique entities provide. As President, I am looking forward to working with the Board of Directors, Members of the Chamber, and Members of the Community to develop more events that will help capture business growth opportunities these very important markets provide! Also, I am looking forward to continuing the relationship with the city so that together we can do those things that will attract desirable business and economic growth to this community.
One of these events is the “The 1st Annual 4th of July Music and Picnic in the Park”. We invite you to participate and are looking forward to this being a success and an annual event. Come out and enjoy the festivities!
In closing, the most important thing you can do to help with these endeavors is to participate and provide your new Board of Directors with your valuable input. I’m looking forward to working with everyone throughout the upcoming year!
